New Cases in England

  • Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed in commercial poultry at a third premises near Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, Yorkshire (AIV 2024/16) on 28 December 2024. A 3km protection zone and a 10km surveillance zone have been declared surrounding the premises. All poultry on the premises will be humanely culled.

  • Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 was confirmed in commercial poultry on 24 December 2024 at a third premises near Attleborough, Breckland, Norfolk (AIV 2024/15). A 3km protection zone and a 10km surveillance zone have been declared surrounding the premises. All poultry on the premises have been humanely culled.

  • Following further testing, highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) H5N1 has been confirmed in commercial poultry on 24 December 2024 at a premises near Hingham, South Norfolk, Norfolk (AIV 2024/14 previously AIV SOS 2024/03). All affected poultry on the premises have been humanely culled. A 3km Protection Zone and 10km Surveillance Zone have been declared round the premises replacing the temporary control zone declared on 23 December 2024.
