Hawk Board statement: UWCU publication – Operation Easter

The Hawk Board and affiliated clubs, unequivocally support efforts and initiatives to tackle wildlife crime. All UK falconry clubs insist that their members are aware of, and adhere to our legislation, and the Hawk Board plays a key role in education and the dissemination of information to our fraternity.

Numerous falconers have been integral to conservation of birds of prey, many play a key role in rehabilitation and release, and we continue to provide expertise and assistance to relevant authorities.

We observe that there have not been significant prosecutions of British falconers in recent years, and where wrong doing has been identified, this has been marginal, often local, and little to do with legitimate falconry. There is no place in British falconry or allied practices, for illegality or criminal greed.

We welcome opportunities to work together with other organisations in order to combat any wildlife crime related to birds of prey.
